The course in construction technology and management is one course that is offered by few universities or colleges or institutes in India. Since most students prefer a foreign degree at the M.tech level, special arrangements have been made to affiliate with Universities abroad to provide a joint degree in the same.  It is important to have a background in construction in order to make the most of this course.

Eligibility Criteria

A degree in Bachelors’ in engineering in civil engineering is mandatory to be eligible for this course. Other accepted degrees are Bachelors’ in Mechanical or Electrical. The candidates are also expected to have given the GATE test or the SET exam.  It is important that the candidate has related experience or qualification in the field.

Course Outlook

It is a two year programme with the second year devote entirely to projects. A number of professionals will conduct classes on their specialization subjects during the course of two years. The portion will include topics like Management of Quality and Safety in Construction, Quantitative Methods in Construction Management, Construction Economics & Finance etc.

Job Prospects

The post graduates with this specialization are being recruited in the distinguished companies in India like Infosys, L and T, Patni Computers, TATA to name a few. More often than not there are campus recruitments in the second year. There is a lot of scope abroad as well. Most universities have an affiliation abroad.
