Re: What should I do after passing 12th to become a MBBS doctor?
If you want to become doctor and rightly as you mentioned, the course to apply would be MBBS. Unless you want to become dentist because for that you will have to apply for the BDS course.
It is good that you want to become doctor considering huge shortage of doctors in the country. You will have to appear for entrance exam to get the medical seat. The exam for MBBS and BDS is known as NEET UG. The NEET UG is conducted for the under graduate medical courses like MBBS and BDS. The entrance exam for post graduate courses like MD and MDS is called NEET PG. It is not a easy exam to clear considering that 15 percent of All India medical seats are given under the NEET. There are lakhs of medical aspirants who appear for the entrance exam. NEET is the replacement of AIPMT. Not only that it also replaced all the other state level entrance exams for medical colleges. Only AIIMs continue to conduct its entrance exam while all other colleges have migrated to NEET. NEET Eligibility 1. Your will have to finish 12th standard. 2. Subjects should be Chemistry, Biology and Physics. 3. At least 50 percent marks in the 12th standard. 4. The minimum age to appear for exam is 17 years. 5. For All India Level seats the upper age limit is 25 years. 6. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST. 7. No upper age limit for state level seats. |

Re: What should I do after passing 12th to become a MBBS doctor?
There are various colleges offering MBBS degree. Admission to most of the colleges is done by entrance exams like AIPMT(All India Pre Medical Test) or state competitive exams conducted for admission of students in State Medical College or you can also appear in Exams being conducted by Various colleges like AIIMS, VIIMS.
You should try to score good marks in these exams so that you can get good ranks. You should prefer to take admissions in government colleges as they not only provide quality education but their fees are very reasonable. |
