IPS stands for the Indian Police Service and to become an officer you have to qualify in the civil services examination. Civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC every year.
The required criteria to appear for the examination is candidates must have passed the graduation from any recognised university and age between the 21-32 years. So if you have passed the graduation with any discipline you are eligible to appear for the examination. The examination is conducted in the three stages and the first stage is only qualifying as the rank after the final recruitment is not prepared on the basis of it. Sorry, there is no limitations on the discipline of the graduation to appear for the UPSC Civil Services examination conducted for the recruitment as IAS,IPS officer...
The required qualification to appear for the examination is candidates must have passed the graduation from the recognised university and the age must he between the 21-32 years. The candidates of any discipline in graduation are eligible. The examination is conducted in the three stages and the candidates have to qualify in all these stages for the final selection. There is no fixed aggregate to qualify in the examination for every time also the first stage is considered as only qualifying paper.
