NET: National Eligibility test

This examination is conducted every year two times, i.e in June and December every year, there are total 94 subjects in NET, and you have to choose any one of the subjects as per your post graduation. All subjects syllabus is available in the official website of UGC, you can download the syllabus by click here

There are total 3 paper in this examination and all are objective with negative marking. All 3 papers will be conducted in same day in 2 session. You need good preparation to cracked this examination.

First paper is compulsory for all because first paper is general, last two papers is based on your subject you choose at the time of filling online application form.

You have to fill the NET Application form online from the official website of UGC, You have not mentioned the subject name or your present qualification, other wise i attached the syllabus directly here, but please don't worry, just visit the above link and download the syllabus and you can also check the latest pattern from the official website.

Every year Net exam held two time in month of june and december. This exam conduct by ugc for jrf and lecturership.

Candidate should have post graduate degree with 55% marks from recognise university. There is no upper age limit for lecturership.

Candidate can apply online on ugc website.
Pattern of net exam has chenged from june 2012. Accourding new pattern, There are three objective type papers.

The National Educational Testing(NET) Bureau of University Grants Commission(UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) for the post of lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship(JRF) for Indian nationals.

After qualifying NET you are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer in all Indian universities/Institutes/colleges.

The candidate who qualify the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) Examination are also eligible for the post of lectureship. In addition they are also eligible to receive Fellowships (UGC/CSIR) under various schemes subject to the candidates finding their placement in the universities/IITs/other national organizations.

The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type question

Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of you.

Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which you would be required to answer any fifty (50). In case of you attempt more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted, would be evaluated.

Paper-II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject that you chose. Each question will carry 2 marks.

Paper-III will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject that you chose. Each question will carry 2 marks.

Minimum Marks (%) to be obtained from
GENERAL category: 40% in Paper-I, 40% in Paper-II, 50% in Paper-III
OBC(Non-creamy layer) category: 35% in Paper-I, 35% in Paper-II, 45% in Paper-III
PH/VH/SC/ST category: 35% in Paper-I, 35% in Paper-II, 40% in Paper-III

Syllabus of Test: Syllabi for all NET subjects can be downloaded from the UGC Website http://oldwebsite.ugc.ac.in/inside/syllabus.html and are also available in the libraries of all Indian Universities. UGC will not send the syllabus to You.

This exam will be conducted for the award of junior Research Fellowship(JRF) and also for eligibility into Lectureship.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

The candidate should have a citizen of india.

The candidate should complete the graduation from any recognized university.

One should have to score a minimum of 55% of marks in their post graduation course in order to be eligible for this exam.

Relaxation is there in percent of marks upto 5% for tech candidates of sc/st category.

AGE LIMIT:

There is no upper age limit for the candidate lectureship.

But for JRF candidates the age limit between 19 to 28 years.
