I have completed my B.tech (civil engineering) at Regional institute of science and technology,Ribhoi,Meghalaya and i am 31 years old.i have no work experience as i have completed my degree only this year.

See, the upper age of most of the assistant engineer posts which are notified by the government varies from department.

But on a general basis it varies from 18 years to 35 years.
But it is not the same for every exam that you would come across.

You may also see some of the posts with the upper age limit of 28 years.

Also, the caste matters in the age limit.
If you are general then, the details are same that i have mentioned.

For OBC category, an extension of 3 years is granted and
for SC's/ST's, an extension of 5 years.

So, a correct estimation cannot be told as it may misguide you, but on a general basis i have tried to clear your doubt.

for DDA Recruitment 2019 for Assistant Executive Engineer,Age limit (As on 15.02.2019): 21 to 30 years
Relaxations in upper Age Limit:
5 years for SC/ST Candidates
3 years for OBC candidates
10 years for PWD candidates (13 years for OBC-NCL, 15 years for SC/ST)
whereas
for APPSC Assistant Executive Engineer
Age Limit will be:
• Minimum: 18 Years
• Maximum: 40 Years.
Upper age relaxation is applicable to the reserved category candidates.
for Orissa PSC Assistant Executive Engineer
Age Limit will be:
• Minimum: 21 Years
• Maximum: 32 Years.
Relaxations in upper Age Limit:
5 years for SC/ST Candidates
3 years for OBC candidates
10 years for PWD candidates
