From where i can do dds after bds and what will be the cost of dds course? Is there any capsule course after bds and from where i can do these courses either from abroad or from india? And what will be salary after doing dds and mds in india and abroad? And i can do practise in abroad after doing mds ?

DDS is the degree which you will require to practice as dentist in United States. Those who have BDS or MDS degree from India are required to obtain DDS degree before starting practicing in United States.

You can not do DDS from India. You will have to travel United States to do so. First let me explain to you the need of DDS course. You see the American Dental Association does not allow Indian BDS or MDS degree holder to practice in United States. Same is the policy for BDS or equivelant degree holders from rest of the world.

American Dental Association has put BDS/MDS degree from India in category of reginally accredited university therefore you are not allowed to practice until you obtain the DDS degree from United States.

DDS is a four year long course however through the Advanced Standing Program for Foreign Students, you can get admission in the second year of the course.

Here is the entire process for DDS:

1. You must have valid BDS/MDS degree from India.

2. Next get the Transcript Evaluation done which costs around $85 to $165.

3. Appear in the National Dental Board Examination (NBDE) Part 1 examination which is required to clear for DDS admission. The cost of the exam is more than $250.

4. Since it can only to given from United States or Canada, you will have to travel United States on visitor's visa.

5. Pass the NBDE Part 1 exam with at least 85 percent marks to be eligible for the DDS. If failed to do so, you will have to appear in the NBDE exam again after cooling off period of 90 days.

NBDE 1 Exam details:

1. Human Anatomy, Embryology, and Histology
2. Biochemistry and Physiology
3. Microbiology and Pathology
4. Dental Anatomy and Occlusion.


6. After passing NBDE, you will have to appear in the TOEFL Exam. Luckily there are centers in India to appear in TOEFL exam. This exam would cost you another $170.

7. Only after passing both NBDE and TOEFL you can send application in the university of your choice in United States for DDS course.

8. You asked about how much this course is going to cost you. Well be prepared to spend a fortune on the course. DDS course may cost you around $100,000.

9. If can't afford then you will have to take loan from a bank in United States to complete the course. The loan would also cover your living expenses.

10. Once you completed the DDS course, you can practice as dentist in United States.

11. On the question of salary, according to American Dental Association the annual income of DDS degree holder is around $300,000.
