I graduated from EC branch in June and presently working in software company but my interest is towards higher education ie M.tech from an IIT.
So please suggest whether i should explore my career opportunities in IT industry or should go for IIT.

i think today's scenario it would be better if you go for an m.tech from iit,because if you have an iit degree then your value will really increase

for admission in m.tech on the basis of entrance exam named as iit gate. if you can clear so you can chance for higher studying in iit sector.

It is good that you are interested in higher studies. After post graduation you will be having more opportunities and much better salaries. But the college should be good also because during M. Tech. we are more exposed to practical things and also get a chance to explore our own thinking.
For Mtech from IITs you need to take GATE test.

see, if you are interested to do work in software industry.

then you must carry on your job.as in software industry you will get priority only basis of your experiance.

so higher study is does not make any effect in software field.

but if you want to do your core related jobs.

then Mtech from IIT will be best option for you.

It depends squarely on your Financial status

If your family is sound to support you for another 2 to 3 years, then go for M.Tech.for which you have to clear GATE exam with minimum 300 score for getting admissions at IIT

Second choice, you can do Part-Time M.Tech at the following Institutes;
JN University,
Delhi University
Pondicherry University
Univ.of Hyderbad

Here, You need not entrance test for getting admission.

Mtech from IIT is a good option. It is better to go for Mtech in IIT which will enrich your career and provide you with jobs in top MNCs.Mtech will enable you to draw handsome salary.

What is the matter of confusion dude! Just go for M.Tech as you have interest in doing higher studies.

Jobs are dynamic part these days...The main matter is earning knowledge as much as you can.

If you have decided to go further in electronics career, yoo should start from now. Appear at GATE for studying in reputed IITs and get flourishing career opportunities.

Jobs always galore in the IT industry..,but people like you always look for extensions in knowledge rather strating to earning money.

So you should give yourself chances to explore in higher studies through M.Tech.

Since you are presently working in the IT industry and getting experience there. So according to my point of view you keep doing your job and take work experience from there.
Because now days only the experienced persons are in demand in the market. But if you are interested in doing further studies then that is also not the bad option.If you are more confident on you then you should have to go for further studies.
But keep one thing in mind that do only that thing in which you show your best effort. Because after Mtech you can get more jobs with really nice packages. So go for further studies if you have really interest in that.

Since you are already into a job...i think it will be better for you to do job for atleast 1 year and get the experience ...then you can always study for gate parallely or else you can drop your job and prepare for GATE...remember to do a thing...Which you have intrest in ...

You can continue job and at the same time you can also go for the M.Tech..There are some institute which will provide the M.Tech studies in the evening classes.....

Or if you think that you can not do the two things at the same time then better to leave the job and go for the M.Tech..It will definitly boost your career opportunities....

But before that you will have to clear the GATE exam and you will have to take some extra preparation for the exam...

and after qualifying the gate exam you can take the admission in the iits if your score will be good.

i will suggest you that if you are getting a good job in MNCs like

TATA, MAHINDRA, RIL, ONGC and many more.

then you should go for job.

after that you can also do M.TECH from any other college also.

I have also gate scorecard of year 2010 (AIR under 3000).Should i opt for mtech?

Its totally a subjective decision depending on

your situation.

if you feel that an M.Tech would be a valuable addition to your

profile, it would get you more progress and better salary you should go for it,

if you just want it to add to your collection... 2yrs time is not worth it.

so decide on yourself

how much package do we get after an mtech from iit??? and do we get jobs abroad as well??

gate also give jobs in PSU in gud package so what is best weather to take job in PSU or go for M-tech

If you have interest to do m.tech from iit,then its a very good step for you

And its also very good for your future.You can do a job after m.tech so dont

worry about your job.You can get any other job after mtech.There is so much

scope and requirment for a mtech engineer.If you can do your m.tech

I think if I think you get a chance in IIT you should go that,because after that you will get much better job than what are you doing now,also the current market is not so good,anybody can be sacked anytime,but if you secure a degree from there it will be hard for any company to sack you,and also you will have better job with better salary.

even I have the same doubt, I have done a B.E and currently working in a decently good company in a plant and piping engineering department.
I am not sure whether to leave job after 2years experience and do Mtech or continue with the job and do part time Mtech.
also suggest me is Mtech better or Mba?

Whenever there is a option that has to be selected among pursuing m.tech from IIT or doing a job. It is always advisable to get into M.Tech. this will help you for getting higher package because you'll be adding a masters degree in your resume. Moreover if you're gonna do it from IIT, then your future is very bright

Since you are working in the IT company.It very good to hear that.

But my friend for getting seat in the IIT it requires a good rank in the GATE.

If you already wrote the GATE exam and didnot join the college then you can shift for the MTech in the IIT's.

Or else it waste of time.Again preparing for gate and trying for the IIT's its a time taking process. Since you didnt mentioned about any GATE rank.So assuming that you didnt write the GATE exam.

Am giving suggestion that continue with the IT job.So that you could have a good career from it.

Because waiting for the GATE rank for the IIT is a time taking process so the time is precious.Instead of waiting you could do the certification in any course which you are working in then it could give more knowledge and also a promotion.
