At present, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh is Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This is his second term as Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. He served in the same position from March 1998 to March 2003. He once more became the CM of the state on December 30, 2007, replacing Virbhadra Singh of the Congress.
