Railway minister has changed three times this year due to certain political conditions.

First of all it was Mr. Dinesh Trivedi after that Mukul Roy leader of Trinamool Congress and a member of Rajya Sabha replaced Dinesh Trivedi as railway minister on 14 March 2012.

Mukul Roy resigned from the position on 21 September 2012 after his party withdrew support from the government. Then C.P. Joshi, the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister on 24 September 2012 took an additional charge of the Railway Ministry.

It was temporary and now the present railway minister of India is Mr Pawan Bansal.
