-10th in 2004 with 70%
-12th in 2008 with 81%
will ill be able to make to any of the software company

Stepping into software company doesn't effect if you have a gap year in between your academics they need your talent rather than your personals.

some HR Managers(Who recruits)may be some interested in your personal things but you have to dominate any defects in your profile with your technical and subject knowledge.

this is the success mantra to get the job what you aspire of.
Learn the software languages as perfect as you can.
the software languages like C,C++,JAVA etc.,

so that your minor defects like Gap will not add up in chance of not getting job
Don't worry now a days as the software industry is in full need of software personnel they do not leave the applicants for their firms for such silly things like GAP.

Your percentages are also good upto 12th but what about your graduation you didn't provided any details about Graduation.
if you are just 12th completed then you are not eligible to get a software job. you have to complete the bachelor degree for sure preferably computer science.
