I did my bcom with 53% and my heigh is 5'1 am I eligible for income tax officer. And I also want to know What other government job related to tax department

The staff service commission conducts an entrance test every year for the recruitment of candidates in the income tax department. To appear for the entrance exam, you must satisfy the following eligibility criteria :-

Eligibility criteria :-
1.You must have completed your graduation or equivalent degree from a recognized University
2.The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 27 years required to appear for the exam.

Physical Standards :-
1. Inspector of Central Excise/Preventive Officer (Male candidates)
-->Height - 157.5 cms
-->Chest - 81 cms
-->Physical Test :- Walking - 1600 metres in 15 minutes
-->Cycling - 8 Km in 30 minutes

2. Inspector of Central Excise/Preventive Officer (Lady Candidates)
-->Height - 152 cms
-->Weight - 48 Kg
-->Physical Test -: Walking - 1 km in 20 minutes
-->Cycling - 3 km in 20 minutes

If you can satisfy the above mentioned eligibility criteria, then you are eligible for the post of Income Tax Officer.

To join in as Income Tax officer the qualification which you need are:

# The candidate should have a Citizenship in India as per the nationality standard

# The age limit needed for the exam is that the candidate should have 18-27 years and there are certain upper age relaxation for other category candidates.

# Education qualification needed for the exam is that the candidate should have completed a Degree in any stream of education from a recognized university.

The candidate who satisfies all these criteria for the exam is eligible for applying for the exam.

The candidates are selected through:

> Interview
> Proficiency test & computer skills

For Income Tax Officer exam there is no height issues and you can apply for the exam without worrying about your height. For becoming Income tax officer you have to apply for Combined Graduate Level Examination which is conducted by SSC.

Age Limit for SSC CGL exam is 18 to 27 years for General Category. There is age relaxation for other categories which is as follows.

SC/ST - 5 years relaxation
OBC - 3 years relaxation
Physically Handicapped - 10 years relaxation

Selection will be based on the performance in the following stages.

1. Preliminary Exam
2. Mains Exam
3. Interview or Skill Test

The physical standards (minimum) required for becoming Income Tax officer are as follows:

>>Height: 157.5 cm.

>>Chest: 81 cm

As you have mentioned in query that your height is 5 feet and 1 inch which means (61*2.54 cm =154.94 cm), so you are not eligible for Income tax officer.

You can appear for the Staff Selection Commission Common Graduate Level Exam for different jobs in Tax department.It requires bachelor's degree as minimum academic qualification.

I have all the eligibility of the post but my little finger of hand was factured and corrected by doctor by surgery. Now movment is less and it doesn't come in straight direction . Does it affect the selection for the post of income tax officer

No, it will not affect your selection as an Income tax officer. There is not much physical fitness test like in defence or police job. What you need to do is to clear the exam & interview to get the job. Also go to the doctor to take advise how movement can be back soon.
