Can a commerce student give SCRA exam? How to prepare for it?

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Special Class Railway Apprentices (SCRA) examination to recruit the candidates in Mechanical department of Indian Railway.

ELIGIBILITY :

* Candidate should be citizen of India.

* Candidates age should be minimum of 17 years and maximum of 21 years of age.

* Age relaxation is applicable as per norms.

* The aspirant should have passed 1st and 2nd division in Intermediate or equivalent examination/ 3 year degree course/ engineering degree course/ 1st or 2nd division in Pre degree or pre engineering examination from any recognized board with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of examination.

* Candidate should be physically fit without any physical deformity.

PREPARATION TIPS :

* Be clear about exam pattern and syllabus.

* Work on the basics for each topic.

* Read newspapers to improve the English language and grammar.

* Update with the current affairs and also read newspapers to improve in general knowledge section.

* Make your study time enhance every day so that more hard work is being done.

* Time management is an important factor to be focused. So, practice more number of mock tests.

* Practice previous question papers to get idea about the pattern.

No, commerce student are not eligible for SCRA exam.

Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Examination in the month of October or November.

Applicant should have completed 12th examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognized School or equivalent qualification and candidates who are doing final year of 12th can also apply for this examination.

Those who have completed Bachelor's degree with Physics and Mathematics may also apply for this examination and there is no percentage bar to apply for SCRA examination.

Your age should be 17 to 21 years.
