Applicant should have completed 12th examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognized School or equivalent qualification and candidates who are doing final year of 12th can also apply for SCRA examination.

Those who have completed Bachelor's degree with Physics and Mathematics may also apply for this examination and there is no percentage bar to apply for SCRA examination.

Your age should be 17 to 21 years old for SCRA exam.

Pattern for SCRA exam:-

The average salary for non technical posts can be expected for 9000 Rupees per month. In case you have applied for technical posts in SCRA, the salary will be around 13000 per month. It will be increased as per central government rule.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination (SCRA) to select Candidates for Mechanical Engineering Department of Indian Railways.

Upon selection, you will get paid a stipend Starting at Rs.4000/- as a Probationer. once you have Successfully completed your Training, you will be appointed as an Assistant Mechanical Engineer.

STIPEND:

* Candidates who got selected for SCRA course will get be paid an Amount of Rs.9100/- per month.

PROBATION PERIOD OF SCRA:

* The Period of Probation is 18 months.

* Those who are completed the SCRA course Successfully are placed as a Mechanical Engineers with 3 years Probation period in Railways.

* According to the present pay scales one can earn up to Rs.30,000 in the Probation period.

* On completion of Probation period you will be posted as an Officer in the Junior Scale.

Salary is according to pay band Decided by the Central Government of India.

For GRADE A Railway officers starting salary is Rs.35000/- per month.

Starting Salary Range For SCRA passed Candidates is Rs.9100/- to 34,800/- per Month

SCRA means (Special Class Railway Apprentice).

Salary packages usually depends upon the posts provided to an employee as different posts have different pay scales.

However, a SCRA passed candidate in Technical field gets a minimum salary ranging from Rs. 12,000- Rs. 14,000 pm, whereas a Non-Technical candidate can get salary ranging from Rs. 8,000 - Rs. 10,000 pm.

How will I prepare myself for this exam.And what type of questions can be asked?

Does a normal railway employee's son can join SRCA afet his 10 2 exams....

I am a student of B.Sc(Maths Hons) 2nd year.Am i eligible for SCRA ?

SRCA:- special class railway apprentices to recruit aspirants into railway branch. Eligibility criteria:- age limit:- 17-21 years. - educational qualification:- done their intermediate with passed marks. Should have maths as main subject and physics or chemistry as one of the subject in intermerdiate. Or should be a graduate having maths or physics or chemistry as main subject. -should be medically fine. *SRCA exam comprises of written exam which includes questions from maths,physics,chemistry,general knowledge,english knowledge,mental ability(psychological test). Selected candidate would be called for an interview . Those who get qualified in interview would be send for rigrous training for 4 years.
