West Bengal School Service Commission:

WBCSSC is mostly responsible to conduct the TET Examination that is Teachers Eligibility Test examination for Class V to VIII.

You should be a pass graduate to apply for this examination.

The exam will be conducted on 9th March 2014.

There are around 4900 vacancies this year.

Selection Procedure:

Firstly TET is conducted by following NCTE guidelines.

Mode of selection,
a. 40% marks obtained from TET out of 150 marks - 60 marks

b. Academic qualification including Professional qualification - 30 marks

c. Experience in Teaching - 5 marks

d. Personality Test - 5 marks

Application Procedure:

If you have a graduate degree with 50% of marks, then you can apply for the examination.

Visit the nearest Post Office, take the form and fill up the details.

The application fee For TET would be:
i) For General/OBC candidates - Rs. 250/-
ii) And for SC/ST/PH candidates - Rs. 80/-

Submit the filled form in the same post office where you have purchased the form.

Exam Syllabus :

i) Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks

ii) Language I (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks

iii) Language II (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks

iv)
(a) For Mathematics and Science teacher : Mathematics and Science - 60 MCQs of 1 mark each
(b) For Social studies teacher : Social Studies - 60 MCQs of 1 mark each
(c) For any other teacher – either 4(a) or 4(b).
