Can anyone of you tell me about the roles and responsibilities which an Irrigation Assistant Engineer must have in HP-HDS . I am going to prepare for the exam of this recruitment. So I would like to know about the roles and responsibilities first.

Roles and Responsibilities of an Assistant Engineer (Irrigation) in HP HDS:

Some of the major responsibilities of an Assistant Engineer in Irrigation includes the following,

>> You are required to assist in generating progress reports and record keeping. You should also assist in the preparation of tender documents as well as contracts.

>> You need to identify and propose proper construction materials as per the required standards and the site locations.

>> You are required to design the irrigation systems like lift, flow, underground. You need to observe comparatively simple and cost effective construction procedures and prepare the work plan for all technical staff activities.

>> You are required to work closely with the water management specialist design engineer.

>> You may also need to perform any other project relevant activities that are assigned by the Project director or superiors.

Assistant engineer of irrigation department in this recruitment is a very responsible job where it is not easy to manage everything at once because various type of duties allotted to candidates who become Assistant Engineer in Irrigation department of HP-HDS which are mentioned below :

>> The irrigation engineer will have the overall responsibility to guide and train the whole team about the work allotted in the project and supervise the different works of civil at the project sites.

>> Designing of various irrigation systems as per task such as flow, lift, underground and this will manage whole system such as water harvesting structures, water lifting rain water capture and irrigation.

>> Work experience of handling problems related to soil in the field drainage and water logging.

>> Observation of comparatively simple and cost effective construction procedures.

>> Preparation and composing of duties and work plan for all staff related to technical help and activities both in the office and on sites of the project.

>> Management of data, record keeping and generating of progress report of whole team and the project.

>> Assisting higher officers and other authorities in preparation of tender and contract related papers of the project given by the government.

>> Learn various techniques and stay with the work of Water Management Specialist Design Engineer.

>> Checking, Identifying and Verifying of proper construction materials as per the minimum required standards of the commission.

>> Accepting and performing of various duties given by higher authorities, project engineer/ project director.
