I have heard about the Assistant Horticultural Officer in TNPSC recruitment. But I don’t know about the roles and responsibilities for the same post. Can I know about the roles and responsibilities?

Various duties of Assistant Horticulture Officer in TNPSC :

>> Preparation of plans and estimates of horticulture related work assigned by superior authority of the department and report it to them on time after completion.

>> Ensure participation of other colleagues and employees related to project or task given and implementing proper execution of work as per plan and chart.

>> Visit to various field in the given time and completing target of various field visits in a day/week/month and collecting and formation of data received while field work and making proper file of field research.

>> Management of Accounts related work and management of various cash and transaction related functions of the project/plan given by higher authority and report total estimate of all inputs and outputs of the task to higher authority.

>> Guiding juniors and other aspirants who are working along with him/her in the field and office as well and providing them proper support in technical and other levels.

>> If allotted the watershed program given by the government then AHO is responsible for proper allotment of plantation, production and distribution of proper resources and materials given by higher department.

>> Guiding farmers and other people who are working in agriculture/horticulture industry and informing them about fresh incoming in the area and giving them all type guidance of the horticulture and provide proper technical help on time.

>> Making and preparation of nursery as per requirement of the area and distribution of various fruit, flower and other ornamental plants in the area and making people introduce about new verities of the plants.

>> Encouraging farmers and people of the area about technical farming like Poly House, Green House farming etc. in which cost is less and production is higher with government aids and support.

>> AHO is responsible for implementation of all type government schemes related to agriculture and horticulture and working with Rural Development Officer and coordination with other relevant staff of the department.

>> Submission of diary and register of complete work which was assigned and total achievements so far which are to be checked by Director of Horticulture Department.
