What is the process of becoming an Income Tax Officer?
Sir i am student of class 12th. I want to become a sales tax officer. Please give me my right track. What should i do in future? What is the process of becoming a sales tax officer

There are two main routes to become an Income Tax Officer in India, i.e. SSC CGL exam or UPSC exam. Other than this exam, you can opt for the civil services exam organised by UPSC for Indian Revenue Services and cracking this exam, you will be appointed as Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax which is a Group A Post.
The average salary of Income tax officer in India is Rs 45,563 per month. |

The process of becoming an Income Tax Officer:-
If you want to become an income tax officer after 12th, you will have to complete an undergraduate degree and then qualify the SSC CGL exam or the UPSC exam for Indian Revenue Services. Age limit;- The minimum age limit is 18 years and maximum age limit is 27 years. Upper age relaxation of 3 years will be given for OBC candidates while 5 years will be given for SC/ST candidates. |

The process of becoming an Income Tax Officer is a candidate must have passed a bachelor's degree in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university. The candidate's minimum age should be 18 years and the maximum age should not be more than 30 years. The candidate needs to appear for the SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level) examination for Income Tax Officers under the department of Income Tax.

The process of becoming an Income Tax Officer:-
No, after completion of 12th standard you are not eligible to become an income tax officer, but after completion of your graduation you are eligible for income tax officer. Income tax officer exam is conducted by the SSC ( Staff Selection Commission, for this you have to apply CGPE ( Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam). Eligibility Criteria:- The candidate should be completed graduation in any stream from a recognised University. Final year candidates are also eligible. The candidate should be a citizen of India. Age Criteria:- For General candidates 21 years to 30 years. For OBC candidates 21 years to 33 years. For SC/ ST candidates 21 years to 35 years. For PH candidates 21 years to 40 years. You can become Income Tax officer after clearing the Civil Service or Combined Graduate Level examination.
The minimum required educational qualification is bachelor degree in any stream. The examination is conducted in various stages and candidates after clearing all the stages of examination become eligible for final selection. So, you can take the syllabus and start preparing for the examination as per syllabus for the selection. |

The candidate should have completed 10+2 with a minimum 0f 55% from any recognized university. The candidate needs to pass the SSC GCL exam or UPSC exam to be qualified for this exam. The candidate should be above 21 years or above from any university.
The national average salary is INR 45,563 per month. |

1. First, you have to complete a graduation in any subject from any university. 2. Then, you have to apply for the UPSC or SSC GCL exam. 3. Once you clear that exam you will become an Income Tax Officer. |

As you have completed your 12th standard hence, you are not eligible to appear in these two exams because the minimum educational qualification required to appear in these two exams is graduation from a recognised University. SSC CGL exam is the main recruitment exam for grade C and B inspectors for the department of income tax which comes under the central government. UPSC conduct civil services exam every year for the selection in 24 different departments. In UPSC prelim there will be two papers and out of these two papers 1 is qualifying nature. If you want to become an income tax officer, then you should be graduate in any discipline from a recognised university or Institute and you have to appear in the exam that is conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year.
Age of the candidate should be minimum 18 and the maximum is 27 and relaxation in upper limit is provided to reserve category students as per government norms. One can become an Income tax officer, after qualifying in the CGL examination. It is conducted by SSC.
The required educational qualification to appear for the examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree in any discipline. So, only after bachelor degree qualification you are eligible to appear in the examination. Examination is conducted in various stages.
