Whether the age criteria to apply for WBCS exam is extended to 40 years old?


Hello everyone,
Is the age limit of WBCS exam extended to forty years? If not what is the situation now in this matter? Please let me know about this immediately.

Age limit for ABCS exam is not extended to forty years.

If you have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university then you are eligible for WBCS exam. Final year student are eligible for WBCS exam.

Your age should be in between 21 years to 32 years for general candidates.

Age relaxation is given below -

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates
3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates
10 years relaxation for PHC candidates
5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman

The WBCS selection process is consist in three way-

1)Preliminary exam(This Exam is based on Objective type Question Paper)
2)Main exam (This Exam is subjective type)
3)Inter view.

No, the age criteria to apply for WBCS exam is not extended to 40 years.

West Bengal Civil Service Examination is the expanded form for WBCS Exam.

Eligibility Criteria for WBCS exam :-

-The candidate must be an Indian.

-The candidate should have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized college or university .

-The candidate should have ability to read, write and speak Bengali (not required for recruitment in the case of candidates from hill areas of the district of Darjeeling, i.e. for Nepali speaking candidates).

-The candidate age should be in between 21 years to 32 years as on the 1st January of the year of examination for services and posts included in Group ‘A’, ’C’ and ‘D’.

-Age is relaxed for OBC candidate of WB by 3 years and 5 years for SC/ST candidates of WB.

-The upper age limit is relaxable upto 45 years for Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

-S.C./S.T./B.C. candidates of other States shall be treated as general candidates.
