Can I pursue BA (economics) in DU?


I am in class 12th in commerce stream (without maths) & I want do graduation in economics in D U. Can I pursue graduation from there ?

Having not opted for Mathematics as a main subject for your Class 12th education, you are not eligible for pursuing B.A.(Hons.) Economics from University of Delhi as the minimum education required to be eligible for admission in the same course at DU is a higher secondary school degree in any discipline with at least 45% marks in aggregate with Mathematics as a main subject from a recognised board of education.

No, you can not do it. To pursue BA in economics , you should have mathematics in class 12 th as one of the subject. Economics without maths is not offered in any of the Delhi university colleges. If you want to pursue Economics honours Maths is a compulsory subject.

Yes, you can pursue BA (economics) in DU.

Below is the eligibility criteria for BA economics in Delhi University:-

You must wear 12th graduate level pass out from a recognised board and your minimum aggregate should be 50 to 60%.

The minimum fees in Delhi University for this courses is around 4000 to 5000/ year.

There is no entrance exam for BA economics.

To pursue BA Economics at Delhi University a candidate must have studied and passed Mathematics in class 12th with a minimum score of 45% marks in aggregate from a recognized board. Admission selection will be on the basis of merit which is declared by the college.

°°° Of course, B.A. (Hons.) economics is available at DU, North campus, Delhi.

To pursue this course from DU maths is a compulsory subject, hence if you haven't studied mathematics in class 11th and 12th, then you are not eligible to pursue this course from any college that comes under Delhi University.

No, you can't pursue BA (economics) in DU without Mathematics.

Eligibility for BA (economic) in Du:-

The applicants must have studied and passed Mathematics at the qualifying exam for admission to B.A. in Economics. 45% in the aggregate, in the qualifying examination. The merit shall be determined on the basis of one language and three best academic/elective subjects.

If you haven't studied Maths in 12th standard, then you are not eligible to pursue BA in Economics in DU because it is a necessary criteria to get admission in DU and any college under DU university.

You are not eligible to get admission in Economics in any college affiliated with DU.

It is mandatory to have mathematics as main paper in std 12th to become eligible to pursue Economics in bachelor degree.

Admission in the course is offered on the merit basis.
