B.Sc optometry (Bachelor of Science in Optometry) or Ophthalmic Optics is an under graduation course. Optometry is an health care profession which includes health of the eyes, diagnosis, problems related to visual, optical symptoms and any visual correction using lens and other treatments related to eyes.

Eligibility criteria:
- The candidate should complete their 10+2 or any equivalent education in maths/ science/ biology, physics, Chemistry from recognized board of education.

Selection process:
- Some colleges conduct entrance exams for admission and some colleges recruit students directly based on their 12th class education.

The salary given after completing B.Sc optometry as a fresher is around INR 4-5 lakhs per annum. As you get experience your salary increases up to INR 9-10 lakhs per annum. Some people move to the other positions after getting experience.

Yes, you can even do your master education in ophthalmology after completing B.Sc optometry.

After doing bs optometry and master in ophthalmology could i perform major operations, as an optometrist we can perform only minor surgery
