  1. Engineering Mechanics by RK Rajput.
  2. Engineering Mechanics by UC Jindal.
  3. Mechanics of Material by BC Punia.
  4. Theory of Mechanisms and Machines by A. Ghosh & AK Mallik.
  5. Mechanical Vibration by GK Grover.
  6. Fluid Mechanics by RK Bansal.
  7. Operation Research by Kanti Swarup.

So these above mentioned are some of good books for BE mechanical engineering candidate to prepare for GATE exam.

- Power Plant Engineering by P.K. Nag
- Theory of Mechanism and Machine by A. Ghosh & A.K. Malik
- Engineering Mechanics by U.C. Jindal
- Mechanics of Materials by B.C. Punmia
- Manufacturing Science by A. Ghosh & A.K. Malik
- A Textbook of Fluid Mechanics by R.K. Bansal
- Fundamental of Engineering Heat and Mass Transfer by R.C. Sachdeva

Refer to above list of books after completion of those books then you need to purchase practice papers and write as many sample exams as possible before the main GATE examination so that you will come to know your loop holes which can be rectified.
