I would suggest you o first go through the syllabus and prepare topic-wise. Also first study from your course syllabus and notes. You can also solve the previous year papers by which you will come to know the pattern, topic weihtage and question types asked in the examination, which will help you prepare well and also will give you hint about important topics which need to prepared very well. I am attaching the syllabus of GATE for Mechanical Engg. Kindly download it from the attachment file and go through it. Thank you.. |

i got 55% in pcm in12th class. And now i am doing mechanical engineering [ist year student] .i want to do m.tech from iit through gate.
i am very passionate about study .i always did better thing in my school days. i always had good knowledge about any type of topic especially in maths, physics but i were not able to get the good marks. one day my school principal said to me that you are the most talented student in my life and you will be definately in iit with having top in100 students but i was not lucky to get marks ever in my school career.i always prefer knowledge over getting highest marks. My question is 1. Am i eligible to give the exam of gate? 2.is marks really matter over knowledge? 3.i am deeply intersted in engineering there is no point in me who follows other ,if my marks is not sufficient should i do again 12 th class by open board. will open board help me? 4.my dreams is to be like that type of enginer who have good knowledge about any type of machine and who can solve any type of promblem practically and therotically.i mean i just want to be great enginer /scientist what should i do for that to acheiving thankyou,i must know the all answer of these question |

Hello Sir/Madam
My present resume 10th (CBSE) - 77% 12th (CBSE) - 55% ( due to a mojor bike accident just before the exam day ) B.E/B.Tech (VTU) - 71% ( upto 3rd sem) i had gr8 dreams of becoming a IITian after my 12th , but everything vanished due to a major accident due to which i had a fracture in my right hand n right leg . unfortunately i am a right handed ( for writing like a usual indian ) , due to this i hardly managed to pass my public . Now my only doubt is 1. Would they consider my application for GATE and permit me to write it..? 2. Will they reject me after i clear GATE exams for the same 12th( low percentage ) reason..? 3. I m basically from Bangalore, so i am only prefering > IISc,Bangalore > IIT ,Madras > NIT,Suratkal > NIT,Trichy So please guide me the right path, also i request the forum visitors who have such experiences to share and express their feelings With Regards RAKI |

@above Don't worry you wont be rejected due to your 55% in HSC examination. You just need to work hard and crack the GATE that is the only criteria
