Generally there is no hard and fast eligibility criteria for an internship.

1. Your university makes you eligible for the internship. You become eligible when the university asks you to get one.

2. If you are not a university student, then if you are aware of the know how of the industry and the field of the internship, then you become eligible.

The recruiter would take a small interview and if he finds you suitable enough, he will offer you teh internship.
