Am I eligible to appear in CSIR-NET to study PhD in Chemical Sciences being a B.Tech Chemical Engineer?


Sir,
I have completed my Graduation which is B.Tech from Chemical Engineering. Now I want to do PhD in Chemical Sciences. Please tell me I am eligible for CSIR-NET or not?

You are eligible for CSIR NET if you have at least 60% marks in your B.Tech. You will be eligible only for JRF for this exam. After gaining JRF experience you will be eligible for PH.D admission in top universities.

There is another way of getting admission in PH.D for a B.Tech graduate which is through GATE score. Top institutes like IITs and NITs give admission in PH.D to GATE qualified students.

Yes, B.Tech in Chemical Engineering candidates are eligible for CSIR NET exam.

Those candidates who have completed BS-4 years program/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS/Integrated BS-MS/M.Sc. or Equivalent degree with at least 55% marks are eligible for CSIR NET exam.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university are eligible for CSIR NET exam. General and OBC candidates should hold 55% and above marks in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

Your age should be below 28 years.
