Am I eligible to pursue Ph.D after completion of M.Com through distance education?


Sir/Mam,

I have done my m.com through distance education from IDOL under GUWAHATI UNIVERSITY..can i pursue PHD now? Am I eligible for it or not? Can you please let me know the information on the same? Awaiting to get a quick reply from you all.

You have done M.Com course from Guwahati University so you are eligible for Ph.D course because your degree is recognized.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks are eligible for Ph.D course.

There is no age criteria.

If the distance education university is recognized and you have got above 55% marks in post graduation then you are definitely eligible for PH.D admission. For reserved category there is relaxation of 5% marks.
Hence, don't worry about distance mode degree if you have done it from a recognized university. Just be prepared for the exam and interview stages.
