Can I apply for UGC-NET to get stipend if studying distance PhD(Economics)?

Hello, I am doing PhD in Economics from a distance university in Uttar Pradesh. I have taken admission this year without NET or any entrance exam. But now I want stipend for my PhD. So, can I give UGC-NET for getting stipend? Is this possible for me?

If your masters degree is recognized then you are eligible for Ph.D course.

The educational qualification required for UGC NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for UGC NET exam.

There is no age criteria for UGC NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 30 years.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
