Chemistry or Applied Chemistry which is better to pursue in PhD?

Hello, Is Applied Chemistry taught in PhD? if yes then Applied Chemistry is good to study in PhD or should I do Chemistry. I am studying Physics(H), Chemistry & Maths in BSc but it seems like very tough for me. My aim is to do PhD in between Applied Chemistry and Chemistry of this course. So, kindly tell me which course is more promising in PhD and has greater value.
