Possibility to pursue PhD(Commerce) for MCom postgraduate?


Respected Sir/Madam, I am studying MCom course. This is my final semester. I have a query that after my this Post Graduation, I can study PhD in Commerce or not? Kindly tell me that is it possible for me?

Yes, it is definitely possible to pursue PhD(Commerce) for MCom postgraduate. Candidate who have a Master's degree in Commerce or relevant stream with minimum aggregate of 55% marks are eligible to pursue PhD(Commerce).
Also candidate must have a valid PHD entrance test score along with qualified in the interview to be eligible.

If you have got M.Com degree with 55% marks, then surely you will be eligible for PhD admission in India. Just make sure you are well prepared for the entrance exam and interview.

Admission at reputed universities will be on merit. Hence, you need to score excellent marks in entrance exam and interview.

To pursue a PhD course in Commerce the candidate should have Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from recognised University and also the Master's in Biology / Pharmacy and Commerce all the relevant stream with aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid BHU entrance test along with the interview.

In India universities have rights to set their own procedure and Standards for the phd program admissions. So you need to qualify National Eligibility Test.
