Is there any direct admission scheme in IITs for PhD for university topper?
I have just completed my MSc in Physics from Bilaspur University and I am the university topper. Is there any direct admission criterion for Phd in any of IITs or BIT or any other top ranked institute? If yes how can I apply? Reply

First of all you must have a Master's degree with at least 55% marks from a recognized University to become eligible for Ph.D admission.
Top Institutes like IITs prefer candidates with a CSIR NET/GATE score for Ph.D program. Hence, if you have got any one of these scores, then you will have advantage during Ph.D admission. Only best students with a very good score in exams like CSIR NET and GATE are able to get admission in IITs. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you qualify these exams, if you want to pursue Ph.D from IITs. |
