Is it better to do M.Tech in Chemical Engineering?


Hello,

I did my b.tech in biotechnology and biochemical engineering. I have qualified for gate with score 277. I want to know if doing M.tech in Chemical Engineering is good for me or not?

Yes definitely, if you have decided to join M.Tech in chemical Engineering and if your interest lies there then definitely you should join this only because , there are great job opportunities in private as well as government Areas.

Water Treatment

Yeah after completing B.tech in biotechnology and biochemical engineering, you can do the correct Post graduate course after it which is the M.Tech in Chemical Engineering as it all belongs to the same stream, there is nothing wrong in it.

M.tech is a post graduate course and you can do this course in 3 ways Full Time, Sponsored Full time and part time. The duration of the course differs based on the mode which you are choosing. To join in M.tech you need to clear the GATE exam as universities gives seats to candidates based on the GATE score which they have attained.

Having got GATE score of 277 you can choose colleges which you have attained for your score in the counselling. The top colleges which you can prefer are:
  • Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, IIT Bombay,
  • Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
  • Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur)
  • Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP), Kharagpur, West Bengal Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras)
  • Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee)
  • Indian Institute of Technology - Banaras Hindu University
  • Indian School of Mines (ISM), Jharkhand
  • Jadavpur University (Faculty of Engineering & Technology) West Bengal Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh

Yes, you can very much opt for it as it has got a lot of career prospective in future and most importantly if you desire to go for it you should do it. Chemical Engineering is a growing need in our country and around the world.

> Textile Manufacturing.

> Water Treatment, etc.
