Is MS degree from Bits Pilani is equivalent to post graduation from elsewhre in the coutry?

Yes. Its a Masters program and regarded as reputed in Industry. It is considered equivalent to Post Graduation. But we cannot compare it with the one's offered by others.

You need to observe the course content which will be available in their respective websites. Both will be more or less same. Each program has its own unique benefits. If you study in IISc, Bangalore for Masters it will have more weight than studying MS in BITS Pilani.

If you are in a dilemma whether to do Masters from BITS or from other institutes in the country. You should assess the need of Masters. If you just want to do it for some good growth then do it from top institutes. If you want to do only for getting promotion to next level then you can do it from anywhere.

The purpose of Masters is important as there will be investment factor involved in it. The better the ROI (Return of Investment) the wiser the choice between BITS and Others.

I personally recommend you to do Masters only from reputed institutes like BITS, IITs, IISc's or good state universities. Else, it is better not to do.

MS degree is Master in Science and the Post Graduation id the higher level of Graduation. You can go for MS as well as Post Graduation after the completion of the Graduation only. But, yes MS has another meaning as it is not very much technical as Post graduation degree like M.tech. So, every degree has its own equivalency.
