Percentage should be 45% in degree only or in overall studies from 10th to graduation for B.Ed?
Sir as my friend got 43% in BA, if overall comparing with 10th, 12th and degree the total percentage should be 45% or else in degree only or we should have that much overall? And she belongs to BC community. Is there any possibility to apply for B.Ed and now she is working as KG teacher for the past 5 years Sir.

Re: Percentage should be 45% in degree only or in overall studies from 10th to graduation for B.Ed?
For B.Ed entrance exam conducted by most of the universities in India, you need at least 50% marks in graduation in any discipline. For reserved category candidates, there is 5% relaxation.
Hence, make sure that you have got 50% marks in your degree. There is no issue with marks in class 10th and 12th for B.Ed course. |

To be eligible to get admission for pursuing B.Ed course, the candidate should have passed Bachelor's degree course in any discipline with minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for SC/ ST) marks from a recognised university. As per the information you have mentioned in your query, your friend has passed B.A course with 43% aggregate marks, so, she is not eligible to get admission for pursuing B.Ed course.

Re: Percentage should be 45% in degree only or in overall studies from 10th to graduation for B.Ed?
B.Ed refers to Bachelor of Education and same is a professional degree course required by those who are looking to make their career as a teacher.
The minimum educational qualification required for pursuing B.Ed. degree course is a bachelor degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks from a recognized university. Marks relaxation of 5% ( or 10% in case of some colleges ) is applicable for reserved category candidates. So as far as you are concerned about the eligibility of your friend for pursuing B.Ed degree course who has managed to secure only 43% marks in graduation then as per the above mentioned qualification it is quite evident your friend is not eligible for pursuing B.Ed in general case. |

No, you only have to secure 50% marks in your bachelor's degree in order to be eligible for B.Ed course. Candidates those who have completed bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university, are eligible to do B.Ed course in the relevant discipline.
Since you haven't scored 50% marks in your bachelor's degree, so you are not eligible for the aforesaid course. |
