GATE exam is conducted by IIT's and IISc on behalf of Ministry of Human Resource Department. Admission to the Mtech programs in these prestigious institutions is done through GATE Exam. The exam could vary based on the specific engineering or science stream, which student has opted for, that is GATE exam will have separate papers for different engineering branches like civil, electrical, mechanical, electronics, computer science and so on. There are certain common sections like questions in mathematics. GATE score of more than 95 is usually needed for admission to Mtech programs in top institutions. Some IIT’s and IISc may need score of about 98 too. Attached below are previous years question papers for GATE exam.

GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is an examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology, for admission of students into the post graduate Master of Technology programs. Every Engineering Aspirant who wants to go for his post graduation needs to sit for this test, since a valid GATE score is a norm for admitting students in the M. Tech program, of almost all engineering colleges. The examination consists of a written objective type paper. Based on the Paper a rank is provided to the candidate for scoring over a certain cut-off range. The Gate Score is valid for two academic year duration. Some of the Public Sector Units also rely on the GATE score of candidates for recruiting them in the company. The exam papers consist of general concepts from the branch of engineering the candidate is from, however, it is the liberty of the candidate to choose the paper subject as per his/her liking.

few simple steps for GATE

1.clear up all the basics concepts.
2.solve as many problems as you can.
3.solve test papers.
4.Take as many mock exams as you can.

you can also refer books from the gateforum,g k publishers for effective practice.
