GATE is one of the prestigious exams conducted in India of which Chemistry is one such subject. The duration of the examination is of three hours and the total mark contained by this paper is 150. There is also negative marking and 25% marks would be deducted for each wrong answer attempted. There are total three sections in this paper. Group 1 contains 20 questions and carries 1 mark each. There are total 55 questions in the next section with a total mark of 110. The last section is linked one and each question is linked to the previous one and there are 10 questions in this section with 2 marks each.
