IETE DIPIETE-CS proposes the main framework of the Software Engineering syllabus as an integrated whole by putting in all the major concepts and modules of software engineering. These again further lay down the sub-fields of CPU scheduling, networking, mutual exclusion, distributed computing, file organization and file systems, memory management, deadlock, semaphores and computational processes. The topic that is given high value in this regard is process operations and process control, process concepts and process states. File operations and management take into account the major processes of blocking, buffering, segmentation and paging. Virtual memory, process scheduling, synchronization, message passing, process hierarchies, address mapping, conditional critical zones, deadlock prevention and banker algorithm coupled with scheduler algorithm form an integrative academic programme.
