The basic premise of the subject on Crop Protection is based on green and environment-friendly ways of crop farming wherein the theoretical precepts of the various ways of natural crop protection and crop development are endorsed. The subject emphasizes on crop pathologies more intensely for students to develop knowledge on the types of diseases faced by the cash crops and food crops. Thus the chapters are divided into the historical base from where the concept emerged, the scope and purposes of this and finally the applicative values of attaining this strategy. It also entails the contributions that have been made over the years by scientists and agriculturalists in the area of crop pathology and study about the different species of crop infestations from fungi, bacteria and viruses to birds, rodents and nematodes. Diagnosis, control and prediction of the crop infestations alongside agrochemicals for pest management are also given due importance in the course.
