Psychology paper 1 consists of four sections. The first three sections are compulsory and all the questions in these sections have to be answered. From section D, three questions have to be answered from the available five. The candidates will be allotted three hours for completing the exam. The paper is totally descriptive and there are no objective questions in the paper. Section A is for 20 marks, B is for 100 and the other two sections are for 90 marks each. The paper is printed in both English and Kannada for the convenience of the candidates. A candidate has to score a minimum of 30% to pass the exam.
