Analog and Electronics paper holds 100 marks and is a conceptual paper which checks the students not only on their theoretical knowledge but also on the power to apply theories to conceptual problems. The questions comprise broad theory questions such as the description of push-pull amplifier, working of the various types of digital to analog converters, function of LM 337 as a voltage regulator and more. Most of the broad questions also ask for detailed circuit diagrams and graphical representations of the functioning of various devices. There is also a section on short notes, construction of logic symbol and truth tables, and problems on Boolean Algebra. The question paper is very lengthy and each section has to be tackled patiently. The paper is also very scoring. There are variations in the question papers every year, and may also vary according to changes in syllabus. Students should know the working of common electronic devices.
