Re: Is CGPA to Percentage conversion of institute valid as per AICTE rules?
Yes, CGPA to percentage conversion is valid as per AICTE rules. There are many organizations who ask for percentage rather than CGPA. So you need to convert your CGPA to percentage in that case. For example, if you want to get admission in IIM than you need percentage rather than CGPA. Each college has been entitled a conversion factor through which the CGPA can be converted to equalizing percentage. You need to contact your college authority and can get the proof of such conversion factor and use it to convert your CGPA to percentage. Some colleges have 10, some have 9 and so on.

Re: Is CGPA to Percentage conversion of institute valid as per AICTE rules?
CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average , provided to students up to 10th standard in CBSE schools in India.
To convert CGPA to percentage, students have to multiply their obtained score with 9.5 to get average percentage marks. It is not the exact percentage of marks that the students scored in 10th standard. It is the rule established by CBSE ,not by AICTE. AICTE stands for All India Council of Technical Education. It is a statuary body established for promotion and planning of Technical Education in India and also to maintain and regulate norms and standard. So, all the colleges under AICTE uses the same formula for calculation of percentage of marks as provided by CBSE. |

Re: Is CGPA to Percentage conversion of institute valid as per AICTE rules?
Yes, CGPA to percentage conversion of institute is valid. Every university has their own method or formula for CGPA to percentage conversion.
There is no certain rule as per AICTE about the CGPA to percentage conversion but the conversion is allowed by AICTE. All the conversions by AICTE approved colleges are valid and will be accepted in any higher level studies / entrance exams / job interview etc. So don't worry just make sure the college or institution is AICTE approved. |

CGPA stands for cummalative grade points average.
CGPA is not same as percentage. To get the percentage multiply the overall GGPA with 9.5. Yes, the CGPA to percentage conversion is valid as per AICTE rules and regulations. While getting admitted or applying on this basis one must ensure that they must meet the respective criteria of CGPA. |
