Eligibility to appear in JEE Advanced for a candidate with 61% in 12th CBSE?
Respected Sir/Madam, my aim is to study BTech course in IIT. So, I am preparing for JEE Advanced. However, I have scored only 61% marks in my Board exam of 12th standard with CBSE Board. So, am I eligible or not to appear in JEE Advanced?

The most important eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced exam is to qualify JEE Mains.
The candidate who is 25 years or more can also set for JEE advanced exam. The Candidate should have passed with a minimum passing marks of 75% in 12th for general category students. |

Eligibility for JEE Advanced-
Candidates should have scored minimum 75% marks in aggregate in 12th standard for general category and relaxation of five percent is given to OBC / SC/ST. Candidates should be in the top 250000 in paper 1 of JEE mains 2020. However, the total number of candidates can be slightly greater than 250000 in the presence of tied ranks. |

JEE Advance eligibility:-
Nationality - Indian citizen and OCI AND PIO candidate are eligible to apply. Number of attempts: Students can attempt JEE advanced exam for maximum two times in consecutive years. Age criteria: Age limit - students should have born on or after 1st October 1995 and 5 years age relaxation is given to reserved categories. Candidate should be among the top 2,45,000 in Paper -I of jee main. |

Having completed your Class 12th from CBSE board with just 61% marks, you are not eligible to apply for JEE Advanced as the minimum marks required in aggregate in Class 12th for appearing in the same examination in case of CBSE board candidates is 75% in case of General and OBC category candidates and 65% in case of SC/ST/PWD category candidates.

The Candidate should have passed with a minimum passing marks of 75% in 12th for general category students.
You have only one option remaining if you get 61%marks in 23 th board that Repeat 12 th from same board. |
