I am studying in 12th standard from Uttarakhand Board. I am average in studies but my aim is to become an IPS Officer. I want to know that what percentage I have to secure in my 12th Board exam from this Odisha Board so that I can achieve my aim?

Your class 12th percentage has nothing to do with the selection as an IPS officer. You just need to have pass marks in 10th, 12th and degree to become eligible for UPSC civil services exam. Just make sure you are well prepared for the written exam and interview.

Selection will be based on the performance in the written exam and interview conducted by UPSC. Your academic qualification will not be taken into account to prepare the merit list for selection.

No specific percentage criteria in 12th standard is required to become an IPS Officer. To be eligible to become an IPS Officer, you have to appear in and qualify the IPS examination. Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s degree course in any discipline from a recognised college/ university and those who are in the age range of 21 to 32 years are eligible to apply for IPS examination.
