i have completed my M.tech in digital communication networking . now am planning for Phd programme but i don't have any guidance how to apply or is it necessary to clear net exam.. how to choose topic in networking field. how to approach guide.

No, it is not necessary to clear the NET exam to opt for PHD. NET exam is mainly conducted for applying to the lectureship posts in government colleges or universities. Since, you are a post graduate you can apply for the PhD course. This is will give an option to join the research field or the teaching field. You must prepare for the entrance exam conducted by the university where you plan to pursue the same.
