The exams of IAS Prelims is on 12th june (sunday),2011 and is of I day only.
The exams date of Mains has not been declared yet but it may be held in the month of october 2011.

There is nothing like IAS exam, (IAS) Indian administrative Services comes under Civil Services Exam conducted by upsc. Every year civil services Exam held once .

I am uploading the Eligibility Critieria For Civil Services Exam basically A degree from a recognized University or equivalent is needed and your age must be in between 21 - 30 years.

You will have to give the Civil Service exam conducted by upsc.It is a common exam for IAS,IPS,etc.

The tentative dates for the exam is as follows:

Once you have cleared the prelims you have to appear in the Mains exams and then appear for an interview.

the pattern of PRELIMINARY EXAM is changed this time .

The new syllabus will have two common papers with equal weightage (200 marks each)

unlike the current system which gives more weightage to subject paper (300 marks) than
the common general awareness paper (150 marks).

There is no such exam of IAS, but it is civil service exam , in which when you get selected, you can become IAS. Forms for civil service are closed now, you have to try next year.
