I am an eleventh grade student ..I opted for commerce at my own interest..I want 2 know what 'd b better for me after 12th..Bachelor's degree in Economics or Bachelor's degree in accountancy..I have to do one of these at IIUM, Malaysia ..Please suggest ..

it depends on u in which field u want to go but i prefer to take commerce because its scope is wide in india.

After 12th Both Are Good Course, You Can Choose Either Economics OR Accountancy.

So, Basically Its Totally Depends On Your Interest, If You Are Interested In Accounts, And Your Base Of Accounts is Good, Then Accountancy Will be The Better Option For You After 12th. So, If You Choose Accountancy After 12th Then You Can Choose CA OR ICAW Courses, And After Completing this Course You Will get Good Jobs In Future. And You can Also Do MBA In Finance To Get Good Jobs.

So, Choose Accounts Or Economics According to Your Interest. Both the Field Are Good, But More Scope are There In Accountancy. So, Decesion is Totally Yours !

After 12, i would suggest you to see what you desire for.
By doing B.com at graduation level you will be having both accountancy and economics.
If your interest is much in accountancy then after graduation you can opt for a specialised course in it and same with the economics too..

For me both are good subjects but you should take the one in which you have more interest. From the point of view of number of jobs available in the market then I think you should go for Accountancy. In every company, an accountant is must. So, there is large scope of accounts in the industry sector. But for that you should be a accountant and you should update yourself with the day to day changes occured in the accountancy field.

Both Economics and accountancy are very good course for higher studies in commerce field. In my opinion, it is fully depends on you because you know what you are good at. You should opt for the one in which you have better interest. Both have very vast scope.
Choose the one in which you have interest, if you are really good in accounting and statics, then you should go for accountancy.

What you want to chose is totally on you.
Economics and accountancy are both equally good subjects and will pace you in a good and secure position in the future.
However, as per my understanding, I have seen that students who have opted for economics have got better placement than students with accountancy.
After doing commerce with economics, you can apply for Eco hons provided you get good marks in your exams.
Also, you can go for MBA at PG level, hence it will be good for your future.

there are no preferences as such. It depends entirely upon your interest and the knowledge of the subject. Whichever subject out of these is known better by you is better for you. ALL THE BEST...Come out with flying colours..

Well honestly what to choose depends on you... such decisions should be purely based on where you want to see yourself 10 years hence.
Though some knowledge about future options surely helps in making such decisions.
Technically both economics and accounting are equally good subjects...both of them offer similar options for future,,,, if you choose accounting you can go onto become a CA,CPA, it will be easier for you with accounting...for accounting career you really need to love numbers, and be a number cruncher.
if numbers trouble you, you are not cut out for accounting.
Economics is a social science that studies how people make use of limited resources. For business it applies because you draw "charts" to represent how a price of one thing effects sales (or demand).
while following economics would help you in becoming a CFA,MBA, or a masters and a subsequent phd leading to a career in education and consulting.
well the thing here is that they both have similar scope... yet economics has wider scope... if you ultimately want accounting kind of career you should definitely go for accounting

After completing higher secondary(12th) accountancy is the best subject for pursuing graduation.Then u can also do C.A, I.C.W.A, A.C.S etc.,

I am happy that you are serious about your career.

so dear after 12th commerce you can choose either economics or Accounts , depends on your interest, career aspiration and aptitude.

If Economics is the subject which interest you the most and you are curious about and you have good data interpretation skill , then go for it.
After doing Bachelor in Economics you can go for Master if you have research oriented bent of mind.you can also do an MBA.
If Accountancy is the subject which interest you the most and you are curious about knowing more about Accountancy, then go for it. You can also do CA/ICWAI if you are interested. you also have opportunity for doing MBA in Finance.

So Gauze your interest carefully and which ever you choose , your bright future is waiting for you . Wish you all the best.
