Yes, Indian MBBS students planning to study MS in General Surgery in the US or UK must appear for the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) to be eligible for residency programs in the US or postgraduate medical training programs in the UK. The USMLE is a series of standardized exams that assesses the medical knowledge and skills of international medical graduates. It is a mandatory requirement for foreign medical graduates to get a license to practice medicine in the US. It is recommended to check the specific requirements and eligibility criteria of the universities or medical schools you wish to apply to.
