Post Graduate Diploma in Banking Operations (PGDBO) is one of the post graduate programs offered by IFBI. The main objective of this course is to supply a pool of banking professionals, especially to ICICI bank. Regulatory Environment, Financial Accounting, Effective Business Communication etc are the main topics covered under the syllabus of PGDBO. Graduates who can qualify NBET entrance test will be considered for admission.


Brief Overview of IFBI’s PGDBO

Duration of the course is nine months. In this, the first 6 months is dedicated for full time class room sessions and the later 3 months for internship program. Those who complete the class room session successfully will be allowed for internship.

Internship program offers a win-win situation for both students as well as bank (where internship is done). Students are offered with stipend during the internship period. Those who are performing their internship with ICICI will be absorbed as professionals just after completion of internship program. The course offers 100% placement assurance. Before the start of internship program, ICICI provides a provisional appointment letter to the candidate. Almost 14,000 students have benefited in this way.

  • Retail Banking-Product and Processes (Branch Simulator, Generic Product & Processes, ICICI Bank Product & Processes)

Other than class room sessions, the course study also includes e-learning process, assessments, study of core banking software Finacle, mini projects, and so on. Classroom sessions comprises of class work sessions and self study sessions. Class work session include lecture programs and other classroom activities for a duration of 4-5 hours. After that, there will be 3 hours of self study.

Eligibility and Selection Process for IFBI’s PGDBO

Bachelor degree holders from any recognized University are eligible to apply. They must have qualified degree examination with at least 50% marks. Moreover the age of the candidate must be less than 25 years. Those who have pursued the qualification through regular mode of study are only considered. Gap between study programs are also not acceptable.

Selection process is done through aptitude test and interview. IFBI often conducts National Banking Entrance Test (NBET) for screening candidates to different PG programs. The test covers questions from the following areas.

  • English Language
  • Numerical Ability
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Basic Checking

Those who qualify the written exam will be called for interview. Selected candidates will be enrolled in to PGDBO program, after certificate verification and fee payment.
