Those who are doing their nautical science in IGNOU will have to face four papers in cargo navigation. Success in this paper is essential to get promoted to the next year courses. The details of the examination pattern are given below.

The paper is totally subjective. There are no objective questions in the paper. Like all the other papers in cargo navigation, this paper too is for a total of 70 marks. The duration of the paper is two hours and the paper is totally divided into two sections. The questions in the first section are based on bridge equipments and the next section is from meteorology and oceanography. The first section consists of five questions and each carry five marks. Some questions are sub divided.

The second section consists of four questions and the mark that each question carry varies. The second section on the whole is for 27 marks. The first section contains questions for a total of 30 marks and the section is for a total of 40 marks. The questions include both short and long answer type questions. Good preparation is required for attaining success in the exam.
