IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics Papers
JAM is an examination that is conducted by IIT to select eligible ones for various M. Sc courses. The examination pattern is in such a way that the candidate has to opt one of the available eight subjects and write the exam. One of the available options is mathematics. Like all the other papers, maths paper too consists of both objective and subjective questions.
There question paper is divided into two sections. Section A contains objective questions and section B contains subjective questions. There are 30 objective questions and 10 subjective questions. The duration of the paper is three hours. Objective questions that are wrongly answered will be penalised and a mark will be deducted. Each objective question carries four marks.
The marking scheme of the subjective questions is different. The 10 questions in section B might contain sub sections. The candidate is required to answer all the questions from both the sections. The total mark of the examination is 200 and the first section carry 120 marks and the second section carries 80 marks.
The best way to crack the examination is to work using model test papers and also using previous year question papers.
