Indo Tibetan Border Police Force was incorporated as a multi dimensional force in the year 1962. ITBP is an Indian paramilitary force which is resoponsible for the security along the country’s border with the Tobet Autonomous Region of China. Initially, the force started off with just four sanctioned battalions. The force was restructued in the year 1978 and the tasks of the force were redefined. Mr. Ranjit Kumar Bhatia is the Director General of ITBP. Checking illegal immigration and smuggling are two of the major functions performed by Indo Tibetan Border Police Force.

Job Profile:

Applications are invited from eligible and medically fit candidates for making recruitment on the positions of Inspector (Hindi Translator) and Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) in Indo Tibetan Border Police Force. Only eligible Indian Nationals are invited to apply for the specified posts.

Eligibility:

Candidates are required to have age less than the prescribed maximum age limit i.e. 30 years as on 20 February 2012. Candidates having age more than 30 years are not eligible to apply for any of the specified posts in Indo Tibetan Border Police Force. Upper age limit set for the specified post is relaxable by 5 years for the SC/ST categories candidates. OBC candidates will get relaxation of minimum 3 years in the upper age limit. EX-Serviceman candidates will also get relaxation of minimum 3 years in maximum age limit.

Physical Standards set for candidates (Relaxation is available for Reserved categories candidates):

170 cms is the minimum height for Male Candidates.
157 cms is the minimum height for Female Candidates.
Chest: Unexpanded - 77 cms and Expanded - 82 cms.

Educational Qualification:

Inspector (Hindi Translator): Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized institute or university is the minimum educational qualification required to be possessed by the candidates.

Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator): Graduation degree from a recognized university with Hindi as one of the main subject. Candidates are also required to have working knowledge of computer application as additional qualification.

Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator): 1 post is available.

Pay Scale:

Inspector (Hindi Translator): Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4600.
Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator): Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

Application Fee:

An application fee of Rs. 50 is to be paid by the General and OBC candidates. SC/ST/Ex-SM/Female candidates are exempted from the payment of this application fee. Candidates should pay the application fee with the help of a Indian Postal Order or crossed bank draft or central recruitment fee stamp drawn in the name of Accounts Officer, Directorate General, ITB Police, New Delhi payable at SBI, R. K. Puram, New Delhi (Bank Code-1076).

Completed application form should be accompanied by the copies of the required certificates or testimonials and requisite application fee.
