Investigator Examination (for NSSO – FOD) 2012
This test is conducted by Staff Selection Commission for recruiting selected candidates to the post of Investigators in National Sample Organization (Field Operations Division) and Ministry of Planning.
Structure of Investigator Examination (for NSSO – FOD)
This exam has two parts, which are given below.
Written Examination
This section has two parts, objective type and conventional type. Subjects for objective type part with marks are given below
- General Intelligence -50 marks
- General Awareness - 50 marks
- General English & Comprehension – 100 marks
For conventional type, candidate can select Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or Commerce as one subject. Total two hundred marks will be given for this part. If the candidate had qualified in the first part, then this part will be evaluated. Time period given for each part will be for two hours.
Personal Interview
Hundred marks will be given for interview, which will evaluate the communicative skill, knowledge of subjects studied in plus two, general awareness etc of the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria
- Degree in Statistics/Commerce (with statistics)/Mathematics/Economics or equivalent from any recognized University
- Age between twenty and twenty six years
Relaxation in age given for different category is given below:
- OBC – 3 years
- SC/ST – 5 years
- Physically Handicapped – 10 years
How to Apply?
Employment News or Rozgar Samachar will publish the form for this test. It can be typed out with double space or written with own handwriting. In both cases, try to keep the format as same as in the published form. Filled form should be sent to the concerned Regional Director.
How to fill the Form?
Before filling the form, read the detailed instructions given on the notice of the examination. White colored paper with size 8.5″ X 14″ should be used for printing the form. Applicant can choose either Hindi or English language to fill the form. But do not mix both languages on a form. Try to enter numbers in Roman numeral form. For filling the form, use ball point pen (blue or black).
